Seann, Sian, Sea, Seasea, Cian, Anne, Sean, CC and Double NN

These are the names of Seann Hendrickson and the reason is no one can say my true name correctly. My auntie named me ‘Seann’ why you may ask well the other alternative was ‘Emelia’ she thought the name Seann would be suitable for me.

The deal was done and I was named Seann…in school it was never easy for teachers to say my name and other kids in class but over the years, I became used to people getting my name incorrect. I never corrected them I felt embarrassed at times and would cringe when people would get my name wrong.

Seann a little shy girl in school having ideas and dreams of becoming a artist or someone who was creative and had a eye or gift for seeking out beautiful things. When you search on the internet for the name Seann I found that there is a famous act by the name of  ‘Seann Williams’. Is this what makes me unique my name Seann which is a name mostly given to a boy not a girl?

Yes I am a woman with a mans name ‘yes’ there I said it which many are surprised to meet me and realise I am a woman not a man. I think growing up it was hard at times explaining my name and why it was given, I now see my name as something unique a way in which I can start conversations with people. I see people’s thinking clock ticking away in the background when I meet someone for the first time, they want an explanation of my name and how the name came about. This is where my name has helped me to over come my shyness and branch out and share the name ‘Seann’ with those that I meet.
